How Do I book?

Go to "Book Now" page on website. Select the size motorhome/campervan that you require. Select the season as per the dates (low/mid or high season) Check availability, input your dates and click to continue with your booking. A booking deposit of 40% of the total hire cost will be required in order to proceed. You will be deemed to have accepted the General Terms and Conditions and the Insurance criteria by proceeding to book on-line. Please print off the "Booking Form", complete, sign and return by post, by scanning or on collection of campervan.

Alternatively you can contact us directly to check for you and book using a manual process. Download the 3 PDF Documents (Booking Form, General Terms and Conditions and Insurance Terms and Conditions) or we can send the documents to you by email.
Read all carefully, Print, Read, Complete and Sign. You may Return documents by post, scan documents to info@wildatlanticcamperhire.ie or keep them until collection of motor-home. A Booking Deposit is required which may be paid by Stripe through this website or by cheque or Bank Transfer (no surcharge applies, details on request by e-mail). The booking Deposit is 40% of the total cost of hire.
Booking is only confirmed when we confirm availability and Booking deposit has been received.

Is insurance included in the daily rates?

Yes comprehensive insurance is included in the rates. A €1,000 euro excess applies which the hirer is responsible for any accidental damage per incident.
We strongly recommend that you cover your excess by taking out Excess Insurance, for example www.icarhireinsurance.ie which costs approx €50-€60 per year.

What driving licence is required?

A B licence allows you to drive the motor-home.The full driving licence must be held for a minimum of 5 years for E.U. Licences from EEA and holders of licences recognised by the driving licence exchange must be held for a minimum of 8 years.  See insurance criteris for full details and requirements in the Book now section and "Who can drive?" immediately below.

Who can drive?

Drivers must be between 25 and 70 years of age with full unendorsed (clean) driving licence.
Any accidents in the last 5 years or convictions must be referred to the insurance provider.We require date of accident and cost of total claim and any convictions relating to same. 
A maximum of 3 penalty points is allowed without referral to the insurance providers. Any licence with more than three must be scanned (front and back) and details of how the penalty points arose. This should be emailed to info@wildatlanticcamperhire.ie or sent by post.  
Persons with occupations of film manufacturing/production, jewellers, market traders, students and those who are unemployed must contact Wild Atlantic Campers before booking as these catogories must be cleared to drive by insurance provider.
We strongly recommend that as a minimum, drivers should have experience driving a medium to large size van, for example a Ford Transit or Renault Master. The motorhomes are wider than a standard motorcar (approx 18cms. wider) and tail swing is a danger for the larger motorhomes which the driver must be constantly vigilant to avoid catchig the rear corners when pulling out from stationary positions, turning at junctions, traffic lights, etc.
 

What camper should I book?

We have a choice of small, medium or larger campervans.Firsly you need to select one big enough to belt and sleep the travelling party.

What is the minimum hire days?

7 days in high season (approx. end of June until early September), 3 days at all other times. Occasionally there may be 2 day hires available but only as last minute offers, for example if a campervan is not booked in advance for 3 or more days.


What time can I pick-up and return motorhome/campervan?

Pickup time is from 4pm or earlier if available on request. The return of motorhome/campervan is latest 10am or later only if agreed in advance.


Is there a security deposit required?

A €2,000 security deposit applies for new vehicles and a €1,000 security applies for older vehicles. The deposit is fully refundable within seven days of return of vehicle subject to the terms and conditions of Wild Atlantic Campers. (Please refer to us if you have have any issues in providing security deposit)


What is included in the basic price?

The standard price (without optional extras) includes the motor-home equipped with cooking and dining equipment, barrel of gas,shower and w.c. facilities and comprehensive insurance.An awning and bike rack (for 2 bicycles is included on the motorhomes only)  Please refer to list of optional extras in the Rates page for optional extras such as linen hire, tables, benches, etc.


Can I pre-order a cleaning service?

Yes, This can be booked in advance at a cost of €80. If you don't avail of this service the motor-home/campervan must be handed back clean, otherwise the charge will be deducted from your security deposit. Furthemore the toilet cassette must be emptied before returning vehicle or a charge will apply. (see general terms and conditions for full details)


Is Breakdown Assistance included in the price?

Yes, breakdown assistance is included as standard with the motorhome hire. Please refer to manual in motor-home for details of this service.


Where can I drive the campervan?

The standard insurance allows you to drive in Ireland and the U.K. Additional insurance cover is required to drive in Continental Europe and a quote can be given on request of specified documents. This costs approx. €35 extra per hire day.


What is required to make a booking and what is required before collecting motor-home?

In order to confirm a booking we require the Booking Form to be returned, and a deposit as per the Terms and Conditions. On collection of vehicle we require the signed acceptance of the Terms and Conditions, the signed acceptance of the Insurance conditions, the completed booking form, the balance of any payment due, the security deposit, copy of driving licence and a recent utility bill (not more then 3 months old) and a copy of passport from overseas customers. (Note: For online bookings the signed General terms and conditions and Insurance conditions are not required as they are deemed to be accepted as part of the online booking process.  


Where can I collect the campervan from?

We can arrange to meet you at Galway (Ceannt) Train station, Galway Central bus station, Oranmore train station, Ireland West Airport (Knock) or Shannon Airport. You can also collect from our base at Carnmore Cross, Oranmore, Co. Galway click here to view on google maps. Other pick-up locations are available on request and a cost may apply.


What is the minimum hire (days)?

Normally (any) 3 days, but 7 days in high season (July and August) from Saturday to Saturday (changeover day). We occasionally do 2 day hires in mid season when not pre-booked for longer hires. 


What time can I collect campervan from and return?

Normally you can collect from 4pm (16:00) and you must return by 10am (10:00) unless otherwise agreed in advance.
This is particularly in high season when the campervan will be going back out on hire later the same day.


Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately no pets are allowed in our campervans. This is a strict condition of hire.


Is smoking allowed?

There is strictly no smoking allowed. Any breach of this stipulation will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.


Can the campervans be taken outside Ireland (Northern & Republic)?

If you intend to take the campervan off the Island of Ireland you must tell us in advance, otherwise your insurance is invalid and you will be breaking the law and the terms and conditions of hire.


Where can we the park up the campervan for the night?

Please be aware of local bye laws which may restrict parking in designated areas.
We strongly recommend that you park up overnight in a campsite or a "Safe Night" premises for your comfort and safety. 


Do Wild Atlantic Campers provide parking for customers own vehicle?

Yes. One vehicle per hire at owners own risk.


Do Wild Atlantic Campers hire bikes?

Yes, subject to availability, please check at time of booking.

What happens if the motorhome/campervan that you booked is not available due to circumstances outside of our control, for example a motor accident, malfunction or previous hire not returning on time?

We will offer you a replacement campervan if available (which may be smaller than the one booked) and tenting gear or alternative accommodation with car hire. If this is not acceptable to you,  we will refund you all the deposit paid but that is the limit of our liability. We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover for such a scenario.

What happens if there is damage done?

The person hiring is responsible for the first €1,000 per incident, If there is damage done, we will hold onto the €1,000 security deposit. We will get a price for repairs in consultation with the main dealer (for Rimor and Adria Motorhomes), Pat Horan Motors, Aglish, Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary. We have total discreation as to where, when and how the repair is done. Occasionally, especially during busy periods and during high season, a temporary repair will be done by us in order to get the motorhome/campervan back on the road and the full repair will be done later or at the end of the high season. You will be required to sign the damage notification form on return and any damages will be detailed on this report. We encourage customers to take photos or video footage of any damage before and/or after hire.

What happens in the event of a piece of equipment being out of order?


We aim to have all equipment working at the start of each hire. However this is not always possible, as for example certain equipment requires spare parts which we may not have in stock. Discretionery equipment  such as TV/ DVD player, reverse camera/reverse sensors, window open close mechanism, roof window, electric step, awning, door/drawer handles, blinds may be out of order. We fix these as soon as we have the repair material in stock. For larger items that are required for the proper functioning of the campercan, we will fix as priority and if neccessary come on site or send a technician to where you are in order to fix, if possible. 
A customer does not have the right to return motorhome early on the basis that "discretionery" equipment is out of order. As we are open by appointment only, the return must be agreed in advance with Wild Atlantic Campers.

Are the campervans manual or automatic transmission?

As of now all the campervans are manual transmission.
